About Scott - ThirdDayImaging

Hi there,

Thank you for visiting my website. I have been a passionate photographer for 40+ years and a passionate Christian for 20+ years. I have been a full time Sr. Pastor since 1993.

I got started in photography at a very young age - even had a darkroom when I was only 11 years old. Got my first 35mm camera (Pentax Spotmatic) when I was 14. Completed the correspondence course from the New York Institute of Photography when I was 17. Attended the Maine Photographic Workshops, in Rockport, Maine for two consecutive Summers. I have been greatly influenced by the passion of Jerry Uelsmann, and the technique and vision of Ansel Adams.

I'm a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served my country for 5 years.

Growing up in coastal Downeast Maine, I was surrounded by natural beauty. After 40 years of photographing I am still drawn to coastal scenes, but I have also acquired a fascination for beauty wherever it can be found. I have been happily married to the lovely Cheryl, since 1987. We have 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren (so far!). Cheryl and I are now empty-nesters residing in South Central Iowa. You'll find many images on my website from the Midwestern Prairies, the Ohio River Valley, the Northern Great Lakes Region, as well as New England. However, over 1/3 of all the images here are from my beloved hometown of Lubec, Maine. It is the easternmost point of land in America, and it is just simply part of me.

On the technical side of things, I have recently switched over from the Micro 4/3 format to fullframe. Returning to my roots, I now shoot with a Nikon D800 camera body, and my favorite lens, at the moment, is a Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 normal zoom.

I've had photos published over the years - mostly in newspapers, a few in magazines - placed in or won several photo contests, but doing art gallery shows has become my main goal these days. I also maintain a fully equipped studio, which is portable for onsite shooting.

If I can help you in any way, or if you have any questions, please feel free to click the contact menu button and send me an email. I will get back with you in a timely manner - promise! Thanks again, and I hope you find something here that wows you!
